Wayne worked in the telecommunications and internet network infrastructure industry for more than 35 years, living in 6 different countries and doing business in more than 30 countries.
After completing his M.S. degree in 1976, Wayne began his professional career at Bell Laboratories, the research, and development arm of AT&T. His career at AT&T and their subsequent spin-off, Lucent Technologies, spanned a period of 28 years. During that time, Wayne worked in a variety of business units and divisions, serving in almost every type of management position and role, including, product development, customer services, sales management and business/regional unit general management. The vast majority of his career with AT&T/Lucent was associated with establishing, developing and managing international business ventures. His last position at Lucent was VP, Worldwide Services, Asia/Pacific and China based in Beijing, China. After retiring from Lucent, Wayne moved to Singapore to become VP, Asia/Pacific & China for Tekelec, a mid-sized U.S. based network infrastructure equipment provider. Wayne left Tekelec to launch an entrepreneurial career. He co-founded and managed a company that assessed the market, business, and investment opportunities for U.S. and U.K. companies in China. He conceived, created, co-founded, procured “angel investment” for and served as CEO of ZGS Corporation, a start-up company based in Beijing China that provides software, systems, and apps for mobile messaging and voice services. Also, as another entrepreneurial venture, together with his brother, he conceived and produced an independent documentary filmed on location throughout the Tibetan Himalayan mountain region that was nominated for best documentary cinematography at the AOF International film festival in 2007.
Wayne is now retired but still works on new market and business development opportunities between the U.S. and China. He is also active in several not-for-profit organizations that provide consulting services to both the non-profit and for-profit industries.
